✨️REVIEW✨️ Black Rabbit Hall by Eve Chase
3.5 ⭐️
I've wanted to read this for a while,a historical romance.
Well it was historical, in the fact of the house's family history, there was romance (there was a wedding and babies involved) but it was so depressing.
The story itself is good, and it's written well and easy to follow even though it flits back and forth between past and present and different characters. It was very descriptive, found it a bit slow in places.
This does make you realise how much the entire family balance is affected with a loss, and how much others have to take on new roles far greater then they should need to.
The main characters (there's lot of them) have a lot of different personalities and stories and adventures to tell, personal growth is minimal and only a couple of the characters are actually likeable.
The book cover is beautiful as you can see, and kind of makes you think its going to be a lovely, happy story with a good ending etc.
Like I say good story in itself, but I personally found it very sad and depressing, actually sobbed after finishing it.
Trigger warnings ⚠️dea*h, forced adoption, harm to other people and animals. Also mentions of miscarriage.
I would read another of Eve's books but hopefully a bit lighter to read.
