The first part of this is a little slow and was hard for me to get into. It really picks up when we go to Dan's hometown and visit his family. Honestly we could have had more of that and I would have been happy. Seeing them fall in love felt very organic and genuine. With that bring said, the third act breakup felt very unnecessary, and made me want to scream at the fmc. Those chapters took me out of the book again. Overall this is a decent story but it's not my favorite, and I'm not sure it will stay with me much after reading. Also I do not recommend the audio version because the narrator is pretty monotone throughout, so it was hard to feel any emotional depth. I ended up getting a physical copy from my library and that was a much better experience.
