What a journey. This definitely picks up pace after The Veiled Throne although some parts still felt incredibly slow and it felt a little like I was reading a history text book at times.

There's no denying what an incredible writer Ken Liu is though. Everything has a reason for being there and I become so immersed in the story I would forget i am even reading. So many times I felt the story was going one way only to be took on a complete left turn I didnt see coming. The characters are all so incredibly well fleshed out and interesting. I had my favourites but even the characters I didnt like I found so fascinating and complex.

I have adored reading this series and each book has made me love it more and more. I am so sad its all over but very satisfied with the ending. I may have had a little tear in the eye, and was definitely not ready to leave this world but this is the sign of a great book!

Thank you Ken Liu for this masterclass of a series, it is one I wont forget.
