The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan
5.0

Great concept of hero and heroine archetypes, all the more moving in each character's individual circumstances. The novel's notable feature for rich allegory definitely never disappoints. So many insightful concepts brought me into deep philosophical reflections about life and morality. This might sound a little cheesy, but I felt I was spiritually enlightened through their journey. There are many religious implications that may conflict with one's personal beliefs; but I think the true key to enjoying this book is concentrating on the allegory, and how the meanings transcend beyond its time to resonate with human experiences. In short, John Bunyan was a master of his craft.
