This was so much funnier listening to the audiobook as Ian narrates it himself. He does all the different voices with accents and delivers the story exactly as his mind intended.

I found it funny and definitely giggled out loud in a few places - there were certainly a few shocks along the way too (looking at you Martin and Jenny).

I loved being immersed in French culture and countryside. The crime is outlandish, but the lies and discoveries along the way were great.

Poor Richard though, I really did feel for him at times. Valerie is a force to be reckoned with and the situation with Clare seems impossible.

From the first line of "Is there anything in this world quite as joyless as muesli?" this will have you laughing at the British sense of humour that is often misinterpreted by the French characters.

I can't recommend the audiobook enough, Ian really does bring the story and characters to life with his narration.
