Thanks to Goodreads and Henry Holt Books for the gifted copy, but this book was very much not for me. Slice of life stories are not my pick for entertainment, and in the first chapters I already felt like I was sitting around waiting for the action to get started…. Or really anything to happen. I just do not care about the boy drama and insecurities happening in this middle schooler’s life. Even if I give this book the benefit of the doubt and assume that something eventually does happen (although I did flip through the remaining pages and am doubting that assumption very much), the set up is much too long.
