Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

Did not finish book. Stopped at 22%.
1. The writing. The prose itself is boring and doesn't do anything interesting. It is often repetitive. The narrative is also written in first person present tense, jumps from character to character, and swaps between present and past. It is also is just... a very strange choice in general. There's no justification for it (ex., the character actually giving the narration to someone else), and because there isn't any

2. The pacing. It starts out fast but then slows to a crawl. I only got 20% in before I realized that I absolutely did not want to listen to another ten or so hours of this. I ended up looking up a plot summary to see if I wanted to keep going and hoo boy am I glad I did. It's so... ridiculous, and not in a fun way.
