An entertaining journey with our young protagonist chock full or old school fairy tale tropes. Surprisingly the world building stuck out the most to me here and the character arcs were.. a little undeveloped for a King book.
I think the simplicity of the characters actually added to this for me. Focused more on the story and the world building, and it was a slow burn that almost accelerated and burned out too quickly at the end.
All in all it was a good read that kept me engaged.
