i really enjoyed the first selection just because it was enjoyably stupid. when i was reading this i wanted to drop kick eadlyn off a skyscraper into the reapers barge(six of crows reference).
she is rude, power hungry, has no emotion, no personality, stuck up and i don't know how america and maxon put up with her.
she is mean to her parents
she is mean to the selected
she is mean to her maid
and literally everyone who comes within a hundred feet of her.
we get it you are going to be the queen soon. but that is no reason to act like a brat about it, in the beginning she was complaining about it like im sorry do you not want to be queen? she goes around saying "i am the most powerful person in this room " it's not like america and maxon disown her when they are the literal rulers of this fake land.

okay, the actual story
so eadlyn gets her own selection because the king and queen need to keep the public happy (hunger games anyone?) so she starts off by getting rid of 10 guys, 10! then she goes around complaining why people don't like her. i liked her and henri. henri deserves more, like how he triend to learn english for her and made pastrys i was rooting for this guy. but, i bet she is going to pick the stupid translator who didn't even get picked for the selection.
lets talk about josie i almost dislike josie as much as eadlyn but at least she has a reason for being snobby. Ahren, i love Ahren how he just left his dysfunctional family good call there buddy. and how he stands up for eadlyn. i mean good brother skills but do we really care about what happens to her?
overall the selction much better than this crap.
