I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Coates’ letter to his son is vulnerable, raw, honest, reflective, and challenging, but also beautiful and real. It took some time for me to adjust to his writing style, but once I did I loved it. As a light skinned Black women, I learned a lot about the experiences and realities of both darker skinned Black people and Black men, which I think is important. This book did not disappoint!
