Weddings, Crushes, and Other Dramas by Emily McKay

5.0

Seriously swoony! I loved Finn in How Willa Got Her Groove Back, but he's gotten even better over the course of Weddings, Crushes, and Other Dramas if that's possible. Also love the allusions to books and pop culture, including Mr. Darcy and the movie versions of Pride & Prejudice, and I loved the inevitability of the conclusion. It's not predictable, it's just that imagining something happening other than what does would be negative for everyone involved.

Damien is, if it's possible, even more of a douchebag (and I don't say that lightly) than he was in the first book, and Mariely is the best friend that Willa could ask for. Seriously. I wish she was my friend. Finally, maybe the best thing about this book is how Emily McKay balances the swoony aspects with moments that are seriously funny. By doing so, she ensures that nothing becomes saccharine sweet - just perfect.

If you love contemporary romance, P&P retellings, and web series, then you need to read this one.
