Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout

4.0

4.5. Olive is a truly memorable character. Even as I write this review weeks after finishing this novel, she's still fresh in my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed her sassiness and relation to her environment. The novel's structure - observing various characters in some way related to Olive - is something I've never seen before but delighted with. It's a unique way to establish Olive's personality and explore the causes/effects of her actions. Now, I'm crossing my fingers that the sequel, Olive, Again, will live up to its predecessor.
