Watership Down by Richard Adams

i thought i would like this one, turns out i absolutely love it. i don't care what the author says, that it is not a larger allegory for something else, it completely is. that is the beauty of art. no matter what the artist intended, an audience can come to understand it in completely different lights through their own unique lens. a beautiful story of survival, found family, trusting your instincts but also going against them, and the cruelty of man. these rabbits were so real, unique, and i was constantly rooting for them and the life they deserved. it's a story of rabbits, sure, but it is so much more than that. it is a beautiful tale of life and nature and i am so happy to have read it.
