Reading this book was like eating salt and vinegar chips; you eat the first one and think, “Blech, why do people like these?” but before you know it, you’ve eaten the whole bag. When I first started reading this book, it seemed like it was heading for two stars; I am not a fan of the informal / colloquial writing style. It also borrows heavily from Harry Potter in a lot of ways. However, the characters and the plot line saved it in the end, and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series.
