This was such a hard rating for me; the first 60% of this book? Five stars. No doubt in my mind for myself and the level of which I was enjoying it…..but I’m genuinely sad to say that the the last 200ish pages were 2 stars for me. I finished this in 24 hours because I needed to. And that’s unique for me! Something about the writing style and my brain clicked and I was at first laughing so hard I woke my husband up. I was hooked! I was obsessed!

But then the last 200 pages comes in and I was a ball of anxiety (not the good kind you get when you read, this was the not fun kind). There was a trope & side storyline that took over that  I really dislike. And this is all incredibly hard for me to say because I LOVED the first part of this book. Utterly and completely. But when it took a turn, it was like the GPS gave me wrong directions. I sadly made me no longer believe in the relationship these characters had built. And then I just felt icky. Which, again, was very sad for me considering how much I adored the first half of this book.

Even so, this is my first Christina Lauren read and I absolutely intend and want to read more! Because the writing style connected with me and flowed in a way that I cannot describe and is completely subjective but that utterly won me over! I much still looking forward to reading and discovering more from them!
