You can generally separate the Dune series (those written by Frank Herbert) into three parts: Dune, God Emperor Dune, and the fallout.
Dune Heretics is the next part of the story in the Dune series and I’ll say while I wasn’t disappointed, I was not inspired. Dune God Emperor at least had a lot of philosophical concepts. This was more plot driven and the plot did not excite me.
