Ren and Audrey really are just a couple horny freaks (positive) falling in love! Even though these two aren't complete strangers, they have to get to know these new versions of each other. As the child of a teen mom my favorite part was how imperfect Audrey is. She's struggling but trying her best to make sure Piper is loved. It definitely healed my inner child. Ren comes into Piper's life much later than most single-mom books I've read, and it's that unique relationship that really won me over to Ren's side. Well, that and he's a giant geek!
God, Audrey's depression really called me tf out y'all. Katie Duggan writes mental illness so well and I appreciate it so much. Mentally ill people fall in love every day; we should get to read romance's about them too. Basically, everything about Audrey is important TO ME. Depressed, insecure, unable to accept love from others, and unafraid to seek her own pleasure. Mhm that's my girl!!
And yeah these have chemistry but they also love all the scary, imperfect things about each other. They navigate their physical relationship while also having important conversations about desire and consent. Ren wants her from the start and isn't willing to let her "bad girl reputation" or judgmental people in town get in the way.
[Insert surprised Pikachu meme] All the reveals at the end!?!?! And we have to wait until next year for the next Quiblings book!?!?!? I'm not okay.
