You Wouldn't Dare by J.M Johnson
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sooo I found this book on Kindle Unlimited, first in a trilogy and boy am I a sucker for a fantasy series...especially those with some mature, steamy scenes! 🤫

I started reading this at 11pm last night and just finished it at 11am this morning, I had maybe 5 hours of sleep in between 🙈 I couldn't put it down! @jmjohnson1993 absolutely gripping! Massive congrats 👏

Story is about privileged girl meets tortured boy and they are drawn to each other by an unmistakable bond.

Oh did I mention they are werewolves?...and incredibly beautiful ones at that 💖

Of course, that is not the end, that is basically the first few chapters.  All hell breaks loose from that point and the mix of action and the heartbreaking love story was more than enough to keep me going. I found it tantalising.

Without giving too much of the story away (because over 18's MUST give it a chance) I absolutely melted for the moments the beast was tamed slightly and the slow melting of his heart was exquisitely written.

I related to Violet so much. She is a strong woman who has grown up to people please in a sense. She is opinionated and challenging and also a little spoilt...gimme a sec because I 100% could be describing myself in that sentence. Her determination to break this man and make him feel was unyielding and defines unconditional love.

I am aware that I am just talking about the nice, sweet things so far. Just to be clear...there is A LOT in this book. Abuse in every form is portrayed and evil doesn't cover some of the acts committed by wider characters. It was hard to read. Do not dive into this thinking this is a beautiful tale, it will quickly rip that away from you. If you can read through that then you can enjoy the pockets of elation throughout.

I will be reading the sequel soon. The introduction at the end of the first one LITERALLY had me saying "Oh my Goddess!" repeatedly...which shows I am now officially invested in these characters.

Please support small authors. This author has done extremely well and I am so glad I took the chance.
