Forever Yours by Amber Nicole
5.0
Okay wow I inhaled this duet of books in two days, it was just that good!!
Part two of the Forever Changed Duet really hit me in the feels. I knew after the cliffy in the first book that this second one would be wicked. There was also that little note saying this second book was steamier and darker than the first, and I have to agree with the darkness aspect. This book hurt a bit to read (emotionally) but the writing style was so goooood. There were moments while I was reading that were so immersive that I couldn't even tell I was reading the book - I was so in the moment and into the book, the words simply carried me away.
Like the first book, the characters are all so genuine and individual. There weren't any moments where I forgot which character was which (sometimes happens with RH and harem-style books). I loved the MM and MM+ aspects that continued to develop along the storyline. It was beautiful to see some character growth from every MC. Our FMC deals with A LOT of heavy shit, but I loved seeing her be selfish and look at the things she wanted to do, just for herself before really jumping into the harem group setting.
The ending though. Damn. Felt a little like that moment you fling yourself off a cliff. Shocked, exhilarating, just waiting for that moment where gravity and normalcy come back. The one thing I wished for was a longer epilogue. After the long and steady buildup over the course of the book, the last couple chapters were like a punch to the gut, and then the epilogue just sort of quickly wraps up the ending. I really wanted to see more of the group interact together and feel that HEA. That epilogue for me was a little abrupt.
Overall, loved the book and the story. Loved the MCs! Loved the dynamics. Loved everything (except the epilogue, but who doesn't want longer epilogues?? I think every reader who gets invested in a story wants the epilogues to just keep going and going!). As with the first book, watch out for the Trigger warnings and the Dark aspect. There are a ton in this duet but if you can read through it, definitively pick this set up!!
