What Red Was by Rosie Price

5.0

I was fortunate enough to win a giveaway and received an ARC for review.

I don’t give out five stars lightly, and I’m honestly surprised by the mixed reviews I see. Not only does this novel deal with the aftermath of sexual assault with raw honesty, it’s written in a style we don’t often see anymore.

Rosie Price seamlessly switched points of view in writing that’s reminiscent of Kurt Vonnegut and Joseph Heller. The story is messy in a good way, it’s not just focused on the assault, but on complicated family and friendships. Price is a bright young author and I look forward to seeing what she offers next.
