Neun Wege, Gott zu lieben: Die wunderbare Vielfalt des geistlichen Lebens
by Ulrich Eggers, Gary L. Thomas
This was like the Christian version of "5 Love languages". Thomas's main thesis was that each one of us approaches our spiritual walk differently. For some, it may be through the intellectual ideas and theological concepts that we come to know and love God in a fuller sense. Others rely on being out in nature, alone with Creation, Etc.
While I can see and appreciate that many people have different avenues in which they can draw closer to their savior, there really weren't any guardrails to this. That is, are all approaches valid? This wasn't answered, but we were told that there are many more not listed in the book. Faithfulness to God can look very different depending on the context of the individual, but it is still faithfulness. At the same time, although I agree for the most part that there are multiple pathways to a closer relationship to God, the paths must run together to some degree. Studying scripture, consistent prayer, etc should be seen on all these paths, though the scenery may change.
At any rate, a helpful, practical book with a few hurdles throughout.
