Lords of Pain
by Angel Lawson, Samantha Rue
There was some fun sex scenes, but beyond that I'm not sure what to think: are we supposed to care about the characters ? Story is a nice h, but I don't understand how she goes from hating them to thinking they actually care about her (I guess I can understand but it's just not realistic to me). The 3 H are just assholes, and nothing really makes us care for them in my opinion.
Quick summary: Story is running away from a man named Ted, to be protected she becomes the Lady to three Lords (college boys who tormented her in high school, forcing her to flee at that time). She has to obey them, they punish her when she doesn't respect the rules, various sexual interactions happens. She doesn't know that the boys are being nice to her to win the game that could allow them to take her virginity (it did bother me that it was such a big deal). A girl from a rival group discovers that she's a virgin, she tells it to her "masters", they abduct Story. Killian rescues her, even though he was absolutely mad at her because he thought she was sleeping with someone (so he made her blow him in front of 45 dumb frat boys ;) ). After that Story decides to lose her virginity to Kilian, because she isn't emotionally close to him ; she then discovers the Game, that it was all fake to win. She informs Ted, her harasser, that she lost her virginity and he loses his mind lol.
The spice was amazing so I don't know if I'll be reading the next book, even though from some review it seems to get a bit better.
