This is one of the best short story collections I have ever read, hands down. The anthology is perfectly balanced and ordered, with the stories flowing together well and clearly talking to each other. The stories also take on different views of apocalypses, from the in-the-middle-of-it view to those happening long after. There's also a wide range of images of what the world could look like and what freedom could look like.

This collection does seem like it's written very much for an indigenous audience. As a white settler guest to this work, I did have to sit down with online dictionaries for stories that blended multiple languages. This enhanced my experience, and I would recommend that others put in the same amount of work.
