I saw "Priscilla" in the theatre when it came out and it made me curious to read the book. It was worse than I imagined. Obviously their love story is creepy and Elvis is super gross. What made this so hard to read was Priscilla's constant excuses for why he acted the way he did, and then accepting his terrible behavior and moving on. I understand she was young and it was a different time, but he consistently gaslights her and treats she like a child. I hated it. But also I couldn't stop reading.
