The Knife of Never Letting Go
by Patrick Ness
Very interesting story with solid yet simple world building which never felt like an information dump but also kept my intrigue. A lot happens but doesn’t seem so due to the many journeys Todd takes which leaves breaks between the action scenes and slows down time. The villains were overly dramatic and borderline illogical and the ending felt like a cheat. The story has a very interesting concept and alludes to themes of colonisation and sexism however they are quite undeveloped and simplified but perhaps they will be fleshed out more in the other books in the series.
