George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl

Nothing much happens in this book. George as an eight year old should have more common sense than to mix a bunch of random products and feed it to someone. His dad at least should have known better and stopped him than further encourage him.

When the grandma dies at the end no one really cares for her or even mourns her loss. The father even encouraged that she take the drink even after he knew that it was very likely to shrink her beyond normal size if she took it in that quantity. There is no real point to the end of the story other than that they now have a farm full of large animals and some chickens with weird proportions.
