I wanted to love this but it overall I was a bit disappointed.
Pros:
- Love that the universe is simple.
- The narration was great.
- The magic is interesting.
- The last 20% of the book was a bunch of plot twists I didn’t see coming, which does motivate me to continue the saga.
Cons:
- This was SOOO long. I would get bored with the repetitiveness of everything being described for the millionth time.
- The first 80% was way too predictable. The Guardians “secret” was easy to deduce from the beginning.
- The fact Odessa “asked too many questions” but then let questions go because it “wasn’t the time” and we were stuck not knowing a bunch of plot/universe things irked me.
And as a reference, I agree with everything Listen With Britt said here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMSFkvLdL/
