The Undocumented Americans by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio
4.0
i really admired the author's visceral and unflinching approach to this book. living through similar experiences as her subjects, Villavicencio reports on undocumented Americans and their lives. her acknowledgement of her father at the end sent my heart reeling. i learned so much about the harsh realities that many immigrants face attempting to live in a country that so adamantly opposes them, despite their right as human beings to a happy and prosperous life. i appreciated the wide range of experience portrayed in this book and really recommend it in our current political atmosphere.
