Booth by Jason Pellegrini
5.0
Author provided ARC.
This a very dark story. At times, almost too raw and brutal. With an atmosphere reminiscent of American History X, Booth is the story of one man's troubled life, his inexplicable tie to John Wilkes Booth, and his path to redemption. Part 1 is a brilliant character study of Joseph Bateman, shaped by forces that he doesn't quite understand and guided by a mysterious stranger named "J". Joseph's story weaves historical fiction, conspiracy theories, time hopping, and yes, even romance, into a relentless adventure that I found difficult to put down.
