The main character is supposed to be unlikeable I believe, but it was too much to bear. All she does is talk about sex and complain about her life instead of trying to do something to get better. I know that her behavior can be explained by her past but it’s one of those instances where even with mental health issues or personal struggles, you must be held accountable for your behavior towards others. And you must be held accountable for refusing help and/or treatment. Additionally, there is casual racism in this book - for example the main character uses a harmful stereotype of Black men to try to manipulate her white boyfriend into visiting her. She also uses the r slur and both are in no way necessary to the plot. It’s just gross.
