I wanted to like this book more than I did. I thought over all it had too many Hallmark tropes without developing the love interests enough for me to care about them. I did really enjoy the ending though. The main character finds redemption even though there were lots of trials thrown her way. I did enjoy getting to learn more about that time period in history and thought that it had many interesting parallels to modern day.
