Zora Books Her Happy Ever After by Taj McCoy
3.0
I enjoyed the DC culture and commentary! As a frequenter of indie bookstores in DC, I liked hearing about Zora’s work. Another highlight was the food descriptions, all of which made me hungry. That being said, not sure what was goin on with the plot. I feel like 90% of this book was just Zora going on dinner dates and chatting about her life. And then she’d go back to her friend and be like hm that was a little boring and I’m like…it was also more than a little boring to read. It was also set up as a mystery, but the hints were too heavy handed. If the plot twist had actually made me gasp, that would’ve been a huge redeeming quality of the book, but alas. Many thoughts.
