The Forgotten Life of Arthur Pettinger by Suzanne Fortin
5.0
I absolutely loved this WW2 story of Arthur Pettinger and his family and life.
How can a family find out about the past of a loved one who is losing his memory to Alzheimer's but remembers names from a far away period of his life that no one knows about? It seems he needs to know about this part of his life to be able to settle.
It was a heartbreaking story of a family doing all it can to help and care for a loving grandfather, who is no longer who he used to be. I loved the bond between Arthur and his granddaughter, Maddy, and great-granddaughter, Esther, who will try and find out about Arthur's mysterious Maryse.
Anne McCaffery narrated the book extremely well.
