The Lightning Thief
by Rick Riordan
I think it’s amazing that Riordan decided to write something that makes kids with ADHD and dyslexia feel seen, reading these now that I’m 22 and finally have an ADHD diagnosis made me ugly sob several times. I relate to Percy so much, he’s become one of my favourite characters of all time, the type you just want to jump into the book to hug and protect.

This was a perfect introduction into the world, but it’s a bit annoying how everyone takes so long to tell Percy shit. I also would've loved for the scenes to be longer, to take more time with each and process them, but I understand this is a kids series and we can't dwell too much on all the crazy dangerous things that happen to them.
