Unbreakable
by Kami Garcia
I honestly only got this audiobook because Candice Accola narrated it. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the story. The main protagonist feels very realistic to me. She doesn't suddenly overcome her self-doubt --which has a very realistic and reasonable source-- because she's part of some secret society. And while I at first cringed at the first hint of a love triangle, I enjoy that it became apparent that it was less about two brothers loving the same girl (and can that just stop in every entertainment medium?), it was more about bitterness and issues between the brothers. While it's not ideal, IMO, that those issues surfaced this way, I'm glad it's not their feelings for this girl tearing them apart. While not perfect, this dead leave me eagerly awaiting the follow up and trying to figure out some of the mysteries left open.
