Oooh this is sooo my newest favourite comfort read. I absolutely loved this, and although I could see some of the twists coming, I couldn't not 5⭐ it when there are so many living and dead characters that I'm already attached to. Especially since it's set in York where I lived for 4 years at university, so this book is literally home for me and I can see and feel exactly where everything is happening. It was even a bit unnerving when the book mentioned a road I used to live on 😅 It's not just a perfect setting with an amazing cast of characters (who btw have queer, trans and disability rep) but the plot is gripping and Talbot has managed to come up with new and fresh ghost lore. The way the Ghosts/seerers operate in this book is such a cool take on them and I loved the blend of history/magic/occult in there too. I'm so exciting to see where this story goes next and the ending opens it up for even more exploration of this lore!
