Goodbye, Eri by Tatsuki Fujimoto

Hmmmm… Im not really sure how I feel about this novel. It feels equal parts cliche and poetic. The plot was interesting, yet the characters felt flat and unrealistic…
Visually, I found the style of imitating blurry phone footage to be really cool and effective for creating a tense, moody atmosphere…
I found the inception-esque nature of the plot (meta layers upon meta layers) to be annoying and trite, but I think personally stories like that are just not my cup of tea, which isn’t necessarily a flaw of the book…
I really liked how it ended…
Idk. This is a tough review.
Ultimately, I give this book a 3.5/5… But that said, Im eager to revisit it down the line to see if my views are swayed by reading it in one sitting or not.
