Last Stand by Rachel E. Carter
5.0

I can't form a coherent sentence right now. Oh. My. God. This came close to rival my love for The Infernal Devices. And to think I only started this series as a time pass. Oh my god. Ryiah, it broke my heart to see her fight again and again. And Priscilla , wow. My heart kept getting broken and patched up again and again & like Darren, I had given up to face a second "Allegiant". I knew at that point , I'd have been more furious if something happened to Alex or Ella or Ian, but thankfully Rachel let them live. It's heartwrenching to see that since 6 years, Darren was a pawn in someone else's games making him believe that he was the worst monster when he was the one played by everyone. And Ryiah, I was afraid of reading this book because I was not ready to face when she gets caught, but to see that getting caught in Blayne's trap was the least painful incident in the whole book, it just shatters my heart. I can never dismiss her as another one of my favorite heroines though Tris, Katniss, June & Katsa definitely earned their keep. But Ryiah is another plane altogether. I can only strive to be even 1% as resilient and courageous and loving as she is & that would give me salvation.
For now Rachel E. Carter, all I can tell you is THANK YOU!!
