The characters are very melodramatic and way less enjoyable to read than Graceling’s cast of lovable weirdos and royals.  Some choices felt really bizarre. Not as strong a book as Graceling.

casually knocking up a princess and a 15 year old guard???? Not ok. It makes no sense that the young women are so CASUAL and nonchalant about it, especially the fucking princess
