Minecraft: The Island by Max Brooks
3.0
The first official Minecraft story proved to be a fair representation of the popular video game. I read this with my kids, this time choosing to read via audio-book with Jack Black narrating. My kids really enjoyed this and being familiar with the visuals of Minecraft they were able to really imagine this story to its fullest. The audio-book does well with the sound effects as well. The book takes the approach of a first person perspective and helps us discover the Minecraft world through the main character's experiences. However if you are already familiar with Minecraft, the story can be someone predictable and deflates some of the mystery. That being said, I think it's about as good as a Minecraft book could be. Perhaps we will read [b: Minecraft: The Crash|39303946|Minecraft The Crash (Official Minecraft Novels, #2)|Tracey Baptiste|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1521279580s/39303946.jpg|60892778] sometime next year.
