Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever
by Bill O'Reilly, Martin Dugard
Low expectations may have helped, but I thought this was a very good read.
In opposition to how sensationalized and interesting the assassination plot was, though, the first part of the book, about the battles at the end of the Civil War, was incredibly dry, detailed, and unnecessary. You can skip right to Part Two (Chapter 16) with no problem.
