The Pendant of Hyacinth by Riley S. Quinn

Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.

Riley is an incredibly talented artist and animator, so you can imagine my excitement when I learned she was self-publishing a book! I couldn’t wait to see more of Thalia and Arael…unfortunately I couldn’t get into the story at all. I don’t think I’m in the age demographic for this book, which is fine. The writing didn’t capture me, and was a bit too juvenile for my taste (this reads more like middle grade than YA). The way the book was formatted also made it difficult for me to stick with it and even read at times. This is not a horrible book by any means, simply not the book for me. Nevertheless, I wish Riley success with the release of book two and her future writing endeavors.
