this book is a mediocre thing that uses bloated writing to sound like a pretentious thing and I had to give it up at 85% at double speed because my hold was running out and I just couldn't care about waiting weeks to get an ending I was already spoiled for. im an outlier, I know, but God giving this back to the library felt like taking shackles off. holding out hope I'll enjoy bury our bones in the midnight soil but until that hold comes in I'll be rereading keturah and lord death to feel what this book should've made me felt. 

and yes im counting it as read bc I didn't make it to 85% to get nothing in return.
