Approximately 75% slog and 25% holy shit what's going on??? And that last 25% more than made up for the sloggish build-up.

The DRAMA. The TEA. This book was gasp-worthy and really had me zooming through the end to figure out what the hell is going on. It's exactly what you expect it to be when you remember that one of the big struggles are rich, high-society man falls in love with poor, low-class girl.

I can see why this book has glowing reviews, I do think they're warranted. Personally, it was difficult for me to click with the characters. They're very real, fleshed out, and deliciously full of faults but... they just didn't click for me. I wanted to root for them so bad, but they made it so difficult for me to care.

Except for Frank. Justice for Frank.
