"Someone could call themselves a hero and still walk around killing dozens. Someone could be labeled a villain for trying to stop that person. Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human."
The book from the moment I first started reading, has became one of my all time favourites. It's a perfectly crafted revenge story filled with amazing, dimensional characters. V. E. Schwab's writing is perfect. It's addictive and easy to read but not in a wattpad-y way. The fantasy elements are so cool too! Honestly, if you liked Crooked Kingdom (the second book in Six of Crows) I think you would also like Vicious. There is found family, Kaz and Victor are very similar and both books have excellent revenge plotlines. I adored this book's past a present timeline and can't wait to read more of V. E. Schwab!
Also this quote almost made me cry:
"Serena hadn’t told Sydney to go home. She hadn’t told her to run away. She’d told her to go somewhere safe. And over the course of the last week, safe had ceased to be a place for Sydney, and had become a person.
Specifically, safe had become Victor."
