We follow Kissen, the Godkiller, Elogast, a knight turned baker, and Inara and Skedi, a young noble girl who is bound to the little god of white lies.

This book was phenomenal. I adored the characters, and the plot kept me wanting more. This is one of the best debut novels I’ve ever read. It was nice to read an epic fantasy that wasn’t 100 chapters long as well. We get a lot of representation. Kissen is the chaotic bisexual, and has a prosthetic leg. Elogast struggles with PTSD as well. My favorite part was using sign as communication even when a deaf character wasn’t present!

I think this book is in my top 5 for 2023. Everyone should read it, it’s a wonderful beginner fantasy novel for those looking to branch into the fantasy genre.
