Doing Harm: The Truth about How Bad Medicine and Lazy Science Leave Women Dismissed, Misdiagnosed, and Sick by Maya Dusenbery

4.0

Bias in medicine has contributed to a massive gap in male and female health outcomes, and the bias itself is hardly a problem of the past. The book presents a number of examples of this bias, in research, in patient care, in policy, and so on. Some stories of individual care help carry the narrative and keep it from becoming painfully dull (though there are places where it is dense as well). The message is critical and the book is worth a read.
