I really enjoy how Paul Kemp has found his narrative voice in the Erevis Cale trilogy. Drasek Riven is probably my all time favorite FR character due to these books. He's got something going on with Jak Fleet that I'm choosing to interpret as homoerotic. I think Kemp's strength as an author is that he writes really compelling villains. One of the Slaads in these novels inspired a tabletop character for me. The BBEG in this series is probably still my all time favorite BBEG for a FR series. Getting to the last novel and realizing what all of his violent mechanations have been for was an amazing moment.
