I knew nothing about this book before I went into it and I honestly wish I had. I wasn't prepared for how dark it got and I'm still pretty rattled. But then, I suppose that's what a good book is supposed to do. It's fast paced, certainly doesn't feel 800 pages long. Touching when it needs to be, with characters you want to root for so badly even though it feels like a fool's errand.
