Really incredible story of author Kate Beaton working in Alberta oil sands for 2 years after graduating university to repay student loans. Shows both good and ugly parts of working in extreme masculinity and male dominated profession. Her frustration, joy and homesickness are so real. Everything she learned from that experience and the trauma she continues to carry with her make this autobiographical graphic novel very emotional.
